While Google Photos offers a convenient way to backup and access your photos from anywhere, there may come a time when you need to delete certain photos from your backup. Whether it’s due to space constraints, privacy concerns, or simply wanting to declutter your account, here’s a step-by-step guide on how to delete photos from your Google Photo backup.

Step 1: Sign in to Google Photos

To begin the process, open your web browser and go to the Google Photos website (photos.google.com). If you’re not already signed in, click on the “Sign in” button and enter your Google account credentials.

Step 2: Navigate to the desired album

Once you’re logged in, you’ll be taken to the main Google Photos interface. Here, you’ll find all your photos and albums organized in a timeline format. Scroll through the timeline or use the search bar to locate the album from which you want to delete photos.

Step 3: Select the photos you want to delete

Once you’ve found the album, click on it to open it. Next, select the photos you want to delete by clicking on each one while holding down the Ctrl (Command on Mac) key. Alternatively, you can click on the first photo, scroll to the last one, and then click on the last photo while holding down the Shift key to select a range of photos.

Step 4: Delete the selected photos

With the photos selected, click on the three-dot menu icon located at the top-right corner of the screen. From the dropdown menu, choose “Delete.” A confirmation dialog box will appear, asking if you’re sure you want to delete the selected photos. Click “Delete” to confirm your choice.

Step 5: Confirm the deletion

After confirming the deletion, the selected photos will be moved to the “Trash” folder. To permanently delete the photos, go to the “Trash” folder by clicking on the “Trash” tab on the left-hand side of the screen. Here, you’ll find all the deleted photos. Click on the three-dot menu icon next to each photo and select “Delete forever” to remove them from your Google Photos backup.

Step 6: Confirm the permanent deletion

Once you’ve selected the photos to delete permanently, a confirmation dialog box will appear. Click “Delete forever” to confirm the action. The photos will be permanently deleted from your Google Photos backup.
